You can even make it remotely accessible when on away from home. In the long run I imagine it would be infinitely cheaper. Not to mention the complete content control that would give you; no more woke warning before your film/tv show plays, no more edited or completely removed scenes, etc.
I am starting to again by physical media of movies that I really like because I don’t trust Big Tech to keep things avaiable and not to edit them.
I also buy good movies online, preferably from the studio itself just to cut out the streamer.
But first and foremost, I’ve been trying in recent years to get out to the theater a lot more. I’m happy to buy a ticket and support the makers of a good film. I’m happy to pay a cut to the theater for providing the space, although I don’t want to pay for a lot of frills; I’m happy going to very old fashioned, bare bones theaters which are often much cheaper than the multiplexes.
