The problem with tyrannies like the democrat party is that they have rigidly stratified power structures. Like in the middle ages, any serf that challenged a knight, or any knight that dared challenge a lord was likely to suffer the consequences of not knowing their place.

Swallwell didn't know his place when he dared throw his hat in the ring for governor. He could have been a career congresscritter banging all the chinese spies he could handle, farting on national TV and spouting nonsense for decades to come. As soon as he dared to try and rise to the next echelon he had to be made an example of. He was a member of the club, but a silver tier member, not gold or platinum. If dems let people elevate their position, they would risk having a member(s) of the great unwashed obtain power and authority that rightfully that belongs to their betters.
