You can go to missula montana and see on the mountainsides what look like many bathroom rings. those record multiple flood and fill events that went on for many milleniums. the latest were only about 9 thousand years ago.

I believe I’v read articles that state that there is an earlier cave in the area identified with early humans that dates back to roughly 21000 bc.

——————————————————————————————There are human tracks at White Sands in New Mexico that credibly date back to about 21,500 years ago. Lots of them. Found in old dry lakebeds.

My hilltop about 150 vertical feet above the Willamette River upstream (South) from Portland Oregon was scoured down to bedrock in those Missoula floods. They deposited all our good soil into the next holler. So we’re called “Oak Grove” because there’s usually only < 10,000 years worth of dirt here, white oaks will grow, but you have to go about 1/2 mile further south into the holler (“River Forest”) to get enough of our ancient dirt to grow Douglas Fir.

I love my bedrock art out the window. G-d made a bird bath right outside my breakfast nook!
