U.S. Central Command forces have begun launching a series of powerful strikes against Iran to impose heavy costs for targeting and attacking commercial shipping crewed by innocent civilians in an international waterway. The U.S. strikes are in response to Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels that were transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s demonstrated aggression was unwarranted, dangerous, and a clear violation of the ceasefire

Trump and allies should set up a program where the Strait must remain open and the cost of ANY AND ALL damages inflicted upon shipping by Iran will be 100% covered by IRANIAN IMPOUNDED FUNDS. This would stiffen the spines of the shipping insurers and reinsurers. And IRANIANS UNDERSTAND MONEY, do not want to lose it and will punish (i.e., kill) those who cause the loss. And the ones causing the loss are the IRGC.

I’m posting this in every thread where the absence of such MONETARY DAMAGES ASSESSMENT is partially responsible for the situation.

And, yes, we could both bomb Iran (and/or take other actions) and do this at the same time.

This stalemate with Iran and the lavish welcome Trump is receiving from Erdogan and the Turks is not unrelated. The Iranian mullah regime still has de facto control of the Strait of Hormuz and their murderous hands in the neck of the world economy. This would no be happening if after the first two weeks of intensive bombing the regime had fallen. That required letting the Iranian Kurds attack the regime . They would have then been joined by the still hopeful urban Iranian protesters. However the Turks were outraged that Kurds would lead the destruction of the mullah regime and may have established a Kurdistan carved out of Western Iran. They threatened to bomb the Kurds and Israel. Trump scuttled plans to aid the Kurds and placated the Turks. The result was that the mullah regime strengthened and rearmed. Hence the warm welcome to Trump in Turkey. Trump lost his best opportunity to decisively win.

A bad sign the past few weeks when TV “and in other news, the US launched attacks” is not a top story. After “Jennifer has the latest on how you’re coping with all this heat.”

It is not as if the IRGC did not know with whom it was toying. Trump had given them
ample warning of what intransigence and belligerence would lead to.

Almost nobody can outrun the buckshot from a 12-gauge shotgun.

And Trump has the biggest shotgun in the world. Rain down hell is right.

Where are all the Iran cheerleaders?

Over the past several months I think I’ve heard every possible reason for why we should want for Iran to have nukes... right here on FreeRepublic.

The United States should post a money board with the total of Iranian impounded money. Every time the United States expends money for an attack, the monies should be deducted from the impounded funds.

This is what is basically happening. Every two weeks or so Iran fires at the strait, at the commercial vessels, to bring up the price of oil a little bit, we hit back, and so on and so on..Iran wants the gas to be high for the midterms, Trump wants the gas low for the midterms. This all could have been prevented if Trump had NOT listened to whoever the heck he listened to and stopped bombing back in April, we could have been done and over this nonsense already, with NO Iranian regime left, and we the clear victors

Unless the strikes are over 20 equivalent kilotons of TNT, they really should not be referred to as “powerful strikes”.

The U.S. military should monitor the radio frequencies the IRGC uses to threaten the shippers and launch military attacks not only when a commercial ship is attacked but also whenever Iran issues ANY threat to any ship by radio.

The IRGC is demonstrating the entire purpose of the MOU - delay, delay and delay some more. The MOU is NOT the real agreement. It is only a roadmap to the discussions for an actual peace agreement. The IRGC agenda is to just keep talking and never conclude talking, never get to a final agreement.

We need a doomsday device to hold Iran at bay. Let me explain, every day I of the tankers going thru the strait is chosen at random to be the trigger vessel. Only we know the vessel that day. If Iran happens to attack that tanker we automatically send a nuke to Tehran. No negotiations. Boom!
