This stalemate with Iran and the lavish welcome Trump is receiving from Erdogan and the Turks is not unrelated. The Iranian mullah regime still has de facto control of the Strait of Hormuz and their murderous hands in the neck of the world economy. This would no be happening if after the first two weeks of intensive bombing the regime had fallen. That required letting the Iranian Kurds attack the regime . They would have then been joined by the still hopeful urban Iranian protesters. However the Turks were outraged that Kurds would lead the destruction of the mullah regime and may have established a Kurdistan carved out of Western Iran. They threatened to bomb the Kurds and Israel. Trump scuttled plans to aid the Kurds and placated the Turks. The result was that the mullah regime strengthened and rearmed. Hence the warm welcome to Trump in Turkey. Trump lost his best opportunity to decisively win.

Erdogan got DJT just where they wanted him.

I am livid, but frankly not that shocked.
