An adorable centenarian couple are keeping their romance alive by sticking to a tradition of a McDonald's date once a week.
Every Friday, 101-year-old John Carroll and his wife Jerry, 100, share breakfast at a Tennessee McDonald's.
They are familiar faces at the Murfreesboro location near the corner of Compton Road and Memorial Boulevard.
They catch up with friends over the same go-to breakfast meal.
'We have breakfast down here every Friday morning with our friends,' John, a World War II veteran, told News Channel 5.
'For breakfast we usually eat the egg McMuffin with sausage,' the veteran added. The pair likes to add a slice of tomato to spice up their sandwich.
The breakfast bunch has grown and changed over the years, John said, but they still gather in the back of the restaurant.
They're welcomed warmly by the staff every week.
'We just love them,' general manager Christina Crisp told the outlet. 'They've been here for a long time.'
The couple recently celebrated two milestones - Jerry's 100th birthday on June 28 and their 80th anniversary on April 18.
The soulmate pair have shared more years together than McDonald's has served its iconic breakfast.
John told KOCO News their decades together have included plenty of challenges and joyful moments.
They say treating each other well and working hard has kept their marriage strong.
'Treat your wife nice,' John told the outlet. 'Try to help her all you can and work hard. That's all we've had our ups and downs over the years, but we still made it.'
Ahead of his 101st birthday last December, the war veteran shared his secret to a long life with News Channel 5.
John credits exercise as the key to living a long, healthy life.

McDonald’s Egg McMuffins are a relatively healthy fast-food breakfast choice, offering a good balance of protein, carbs, and fats compared to other menu items.
Here is a breakdown of their nutritional profile and why they are generally well-regarded by nutritionists:
Nutritional Basics: A standard Egg McMuffin contains roughly 310 calories, 17 grams of protein, 13 grams of fat, and 30 grams of carbohydrates.
Lean Protein: It features a whole, freshly cracked egg and Canadian bacon, providing high-quality protein that helps keep you full.
Lower in Fat: Unlike biscuits or croissants, which are loaded with butter and layers of fat, the English muffin keeps the overall fat and calorie count relatively low.
The Downside: The main drawback is the sodium content, which sits at around 770 mg (about one-third of the recommended daily limit).
Tip: You can make it even healthier by asking to hold the butter or cheese to lower the fat and sodium content further.

That’s a pretty low bar.
Last I heard my late father had an aunt who had outlived all of her immediate family and friends. She ate fried chicken and white bread regularly.
My wife's aunt passed in her nineties and she lived on chicken tenders and coffee.
Sometimes I think how long we live is just a random crap shoot...

Sheeesh... she’d likely still be alive if she ate healthily....
My Mom is 96 and a Diabetic. She still plays piano for her Church Class and lives in her own house. She drinks coffee and has waffles that she pops in the toaster for breakfast. But she loves the Lord and is happy she can still play piano and serve Him!
