I had a property professor in law school (very well regarded nationally in property law, he’s around 87 now) who told us a story one time about visiting a friend in England who worked at some type of office/archive place and they visited him there. He asked him if he wanted to see a copy of the original Declaration of Independence and he said “Uh, sure”. The guy pointed to a cabinet and said “It’s in that third drawer over there. Obviously it’s pretty important to you guys, but we aren’t real fond of it over here” 😂
