Why? What if they had no resources to feed or house the dogs, and thus had to ration their resources?

Do you imagine that socialism works when applied to animals? That if a shelter promises to be "no kill" then the needed resources will suddenly appear by magic?

But you PROMISED unlimited free health care, free housing and free food for all dogs! You PROMISED!

Most "no kill" shelters actually do kill. And a shot to the head is much more humane then starving the poor pooch to death.

However if you say you are no kill you should indeed not kill the animals placed in your care by either active or passive means.
