What I did was to yes, get an account, but I didn’t sign onto W10 with it. I still used my local account. But I have MS Office and when I opened up Word I logged in at the top with my MS account. Then I went into Settings, Update and Security, and followed the prompts to get it set up. If you look through ThioJoe’s videos, he has one or two show how it’s done and a few things to trick the system.

Ditto. “It just worked.”

On the other hand, I don’t get very many of those vaunted “security updates”. Do you?
