Over my 86 years of life I have smoked a pipe, cigarettes,
cigars and chewed various forms of it. In the last 30 years
I’ve not touched it in any form. Not long after I gave up
alcohol and haven’t had a drop since. Life goes on.....
Ice cream first after dinner. Then enjoy the high-end brandy and cigars.
Great governor, terrible POTUS candidate. Maybe he learned…maybe, we’ll see.
FL resident here…supporting JD at this point. Appreciate everything Gov DeSantis did for FL, but he had a super majority R legislature, so it was easy and he still couldn’t get some things over the finish line. We still have red flag laws post Stoneman shooting. If not for an awesome AG, we’d still have some more of those restrictions that were instituted still in place. I don’t think he has the chops to take the national punches as JD can.

I think he’s learned. It would be great if he had the nomination and hair gel got it for the dems. Just remember some experienced losses before winning the big one. Think Nixon, BJ, even Reagan in ‘68.

He listened to the wrong people and got really terrible advice. I feel he’s the best on to take on the monsters we’re going to be facing inside this country.

I like JD, too, but don't want a coronation. Would like to see DeSantis and Rubio and JD contest it in the primaries. It's nice to have a deep bench vs the demoncrap's clown posse lining up in the wings.

Most interesting. We had one under Bush ‘41 and he took this country in a different direction-blew it. I think Trump has turned foe and friend upside down in this country. DeSantis will be a different face on our movement with none of this ‘kinder and gentler’ stuff. Governors have to be more genuine in dealing with all sides. His experience with disasters and standing up to covid has got enough of us convinced while the democrats go fishing for that smooth talker with the flash who says he’s something that he’s not. If DeSantis trips himself up in the campaign we’ll stick with him like we did with Trump. Trump will be setting the table for the governor in the next 2 years.
Just remember Hubert Humphrey was too tied to LBJ to win in ‘68, the most turbulent year in our lifetime.

Good to see a cigar thread—even though I loath that magazine.
They are notorious for giving favorable review treatment to releases by companies that advertise in them—so their reviews are a laughingstock.
Another trap that catches them is when they try to review Cuban cigars (my favorites—and I have a lifetime supply on hand).
Most Cubans are released to market way before they are ready to smoke—and do not reach their “peak” in flavor until at least five years.
Smoking a new release Cuban and then complaining it is not that great is heresy!
