Just 7% of active voters supported Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s radical ally Darializa Avila Chevalier over establishment Democrat Rep. Adriano Espaillat in Tuesday’s main event primary, data shows.
The overall low turnout — roughly 17% of Democratic voters citywide — came as Avila Chevalier and two other Mamdani-backed House primary winners captured a mix of high-earning, young, white and black voters, analysts found.
Insiders also credited the Democratic Socialists of America’s formidable field operations for turning out voters who’d back Mamdani’s preferred candidates — setting the stage for a potential party takeover by the DSA.

I recall reading somewhere that it only takes 4% of the population to start a revolution. Most people won’t take a side. And most of them will just go along with whomever wins.
It just has to be the right 4%. None of these folks seem like the kind of leader who would lead a revolution.

I must beg to differ. Socialism works perfectly for its actual purpose - to secure power permanently for the socialists in charge. Of course it’s a disaster for “the people”, but when have the vanguard party ever cared about them?
Seventeen percent turnout. To all the idiots who could have turned these elections in a different direction but sat it out instead — good job! Sure, the alternatives still would not have been to my liking, but at least they wouldn’t have been DSA cultists. I couldn’t care less if people in places such as NYC want to sh-t in their own nests on state and local elections, but when they send DSA types to Congress, they are sh-tting in my nest too.

So basically, everyone else stayed home..blacks did NOT vote for her, neither did low income people or hispanics, but she got the youth vote and white affluent commie women again, the stain on society..to come out and vote for someone who wants to abolish prisons and release serial killers..OK I say again, send them to THEIR homes see how they like it
