Carnival Cruise makes ruthless decision after feisty passengers erupt in massive brawl at Miami port

Carnival Cruise Line has banned 16 people after a massive fight broke out among passengers as they waited in a customs line in Florida.

Dramatic footage captured the moment a group of unruly individuals charged at each other at around 8am on Monday after the Carnival Conquest ship docked at Port Miami following a trip to the Bahamas.

Two unidentified women kicked off the brawl as one of them, dressed in a black strapless dress, ducked under a line divider and started swinging at a woman in polka dot pajamas.

Another woman, who donned a yellow and white maxi-dress, then jumped into the scuffle and grabbed on to the other's hair.

The two of them went back and forth for minutes, tightly gripping each other's hair as they tried to stay grounded with their bare feet on the floor.

Several men and women joined the melee as US Customs and Border Protection officers attempted to break up the mayhem.

Suitcases and personal belongings were thrown around during the chaotic scene.

At one point, a man was seen holding a stanchion over his head as people screamed.

After a couple of minutes the fight was broken up and people were seen trying to carry on with their day.

It remains unclear what sparked the fracas, but the violent disagreement was between two families, the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO) told the Daily Mail.

No one was arrested after neither of the parties decided to press charges against the other, cops said.

As a result of the brawl 16 people have been placed on Carnival Cruise Lines' 'Do Not Sail List', a company spokesperson told the Daily Mail.

I thought Carnival was cleaning this crap up.

Heard the crew has slip resistant shoe soles. /s

Like Wick's special tailor in John Wick. In case of a slippery substance on the floor during fights.

Note: "The costume department utilized the Calvin Klein Brodie Lace Up Dress Oxford, chosen because its non-slip soles allowed stunt doubles and Keanu Reeves to perform martial arts and high-action sequences safely."

Three or four day cruises on Carnival attract those looking for cheap cruises. Celebrity costs too much.

The Customs and Border Patrol has to inspect whatever Americans buy in the Bahamas? Maybe they just got antsy from waiting.

My thought was how many people were allowed to slip by un-inspected while this was going on? Perhaps set up to do so?

What exactly was Carnivals’ “ruthless decision?”

Oh, that. Carnival placed them on their company's “Do Not Sail List”. (Kind of a much rougher punishment than double-secret probation by Dean Wermer, ya know!)

I have 3 Wal-Marts in a 30-35 minute driving radius from my house. All of them are pleasant shopping experiences.

I moved exurban from an inner ring suburb a few years ago. The Wal-Mart near there was not, to the point that you’d almost think it was a different chain of stores. Expensive-ish nice suburb, too, but the Wal-Mart was pretty 3rd World.

Speaking clearly and relaying information is communicating.

Too bad you feel the need to condemn that out of your liberal angst.

I wouldn’t call that ruthless either. Anyone who does that should be banned from every means of transportation it’s possible to ban them from.

With a Kevlar vest, steel toed boots, a steel helmet and ongoing situational awareness you can shop and exit most Walmarts fine.

Two of hundreds....

And so what if the people involved declined to press charges against each other?

Since when is that required when a child has been assaulted, when someone lays hands on LE? And there’s video of it all.

Seems to me like both LE and the DA down there have some splainin’ to do.

>> Was the cruise ship going to Africa? If so let them back on.

I hope they listen to that guy who is encouraging them to go back to Africa and reclaim their land & heritage, ‘cause they deserve better than America.

Yes, carnival attracts more of them.
Cheaper drinking plans. And cheaper cruise ticket prices as well.

Per AI...

“Under Florida law, a victim is not required to be present, press charges, or testify in order to charge someone with assault. Once a crime is reported and an investigation produces probable cause, the decision to prosecute lies entirely with the state attorney or prosecutor.

Key Things to Know The State is the Prosecutor: Criminal charges are filed in the name of the state (e.g., State of Florida v. [Defendant]). Even if an alleged victim explicitly asks the state attorney to drop the charges, the prosecutor has the legal discretion to move forward.”

OK... I've never been on a cruise in my life, so maybe this is a dumb question but here goes:

Are "they" allowed to bring their weed stash onto a Carnival Cruise?
