The New York Knicks are NBA champions.
In a Game 5 of the NBA Finals Saturday night that looked much like the previous four, the San Antonio Spurs took a double-digit lead in the first quarter.
But like in three of the previous four games, the Knicks rallied — this time from a 16-point deficit — to secure a 94-90 Game 5 win and a 4-1 series victory in the NBA Finals.
Jalen Brunson led the way with a legacy-securing 45-point effort as New York’s only reliable source of offense on a night in which both teams struggled from the field. But for New York, the win didn’t have to be pretty. The result is the franchise’s first NBA championship since 1973. And Brunson has secured his place among New York’s sporting greats.

But I actually watched it, and despite the fact I was never a proponent of KAT, he was the one shutting down Wemby.
And I have proof: If you look at his regular season games against Wemby he did the same thing. And those weren't finals games, so your pressure argument is void.
I think you need to get over your "Europeans are always better than people from the U.S." idea.
1973 was also the same year the Indiana Pacers won their last championship (as an ABA franchise). Other longer NBA championship droughts include:
1976-New York/New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets (ABA)
1974-New Orleans/Utah Jazz (never have won a championship)
1970-Buffalo Braves/San Diego/Los Angeles Clippers (never have won a championship)
1968-Phoenix Suns (never have won a championship)
1958-St. Louis/Atlanta Hawks
1951-Rochester/Cincinnati Royals/Omaha/Kansas City/Sacramento Kings (longest in NBA and third longest championship drought overall behind the 1948 Cleveland Indians and 1947 Chicago/St. Louis/Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals).
Yes, its true what people say.
You, are an idiot.
You can call names, but you don’t seem to be able to use logic.
I think you're thinking of Don Lemon.
Thank God that’s over. When does the regular season start? Next week?

I can’t wait to see what you say next. Peace of the Lord.
I hear you.
I stopped watching after Magic/Bird when the NBA devolved into thugball with 3-steps/no traveling call.
..He mentions how important his work ethic was growing up...
Has potential to be a role model for our youth
San Antonio lead for 72% of the series. Sometimes by huge margins.
But the only lead that matters is at the end of the game. NY did not give up.
Brunson said that sometimes it’s as if the Knicks start the game half an hour later than their opponents.
I like the Knicks players and team. I hate NY fans and NY media. We have to listen to this crap for a week now.
I am a Celtics fan from way back. I had to laugh when I read his comment. People outside the Celtics orbit hate the Celtics more than any other team.
That’s OK. Every couple of years we just wash the streets with their tears. LOL
I almost never watch Soccer or Basketball.
Both were too infectious last nite. I was watching the Nicks game and when I had a chance I was flipping over to Fox to watch the Soccer - saw Scotland beat Haiti.
And then I stayed till the end with the Nicks victory.
Anyone watching KNEW Jalen Brunson of the Knicks was going to be the MVP of the game.
Watching him with his dad after the victory had to hit everyone’s heart.
Now, to make champs out of the NY Jets!!
Spurs blew it big time, up double digits in all four games they lost and couldn’t close out the game
👍
Giants 2011, but it’s been far too long nonetheless.
I wonder if Mayor Madmani will demand the Knicks to give the trophy to non NBA players, because NBA players do not need it. 🤓
Don’t follow the NBA in the past 20 years or so but the Knicks were the first team I pulled for and I recall that 1973 team so well, Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, and yes Phil Jackson was a Knick back then.
Sad how the NBA has fallen and become so woke.
