Seems a little odd for Collins to be the one to cave here. It’s nothing but theater because they’ll never get to 60 votes, nor ever make it so that only 50+Vance are required.
So this may swing the votes of the 5 or 10 actual conservative voters in Maine, but alienate exponentially more non-conservatives.
We are TOLD that “ate-y purrsent of voterz want thiss!” (SAVE Act) but that’s probably not close to being true once the details are known, and this clearly calculated move by Collins reveals that the GOP is taking the anecdotal “Platner can’t win!” crap way too literally.
We all know what Collins is, and we all know what Maine is. She’s the best we can do there so just hold your nose, etc. That much is true.
So Collins suddenly pretending to be a conservative isn’t the smartest thing for her re-election chances. The SAVE Act is gong nowhere in John Thune’s Senate, so why should she even bother with this charade? All risk, no reward.

She voted for Kavanaugh for SCOTUS in her last election. That was a profile in courage. So will this one should it pass. She’s more than come through for us.
