Here's an idea: RETIRE already, and give someone else a shot.

CBS insiders believed Whitaker and Stahl could be the next high-profile departuresShould have already occurred. They have inflated egos, they should have resigned long ago, they are awful and part of the problem.

Oh I dunno.......maybe an HONEST one?Perhaps one without a leftist agenda and one that shows BOTH sides without an overt leftist bias?

Going back to the Seventies, I always thought thought the show had a We're smarter than you are attitude. I never became a fan.

Lesley Stahl is 84. EIGHTY-FOUR!
I stopped watching 60 Minutes when I left for college in 1976. Gone 50 years without it. Pretty sure I can live the rest of my life without hearing someone 15 years older than me attacking everything I’ve believed in and how I live...

{quote}Steve Kroft warned that the iconic newsmagazine “no longer exists” in the form viewers have known for decades.{endquote}
OH, you mean the like in the form of the bogus Audi 5000 “unintended acceleration” accusations of the 80’s, or the GM full-sized pickups catching fire when impacted story of the 90’s?
Both accusations were “substantiated” by off-screen and unrevealed assists - high pressure air to the transmission of the Audis, and fire ignition devices in the case of the pickup trucks.
YES, “60 Minutes” has been totally reliable for ‘decades’. /s

“I think basically ’60 Minutes,’ as the audience has known it, no longer exists,” Kroft told New York Magazine. Kroft says that like it's a bad thing.

My take on the mainstream media over many decades has been one of the original”stars”(Cronkite, et al) taking upon themselves to “guide” the news and narrative in a direction they thought was “helpful”. As the years have gone by, the new “stars” took the stage and the guidance became more and more overt until we have gotten to the point today where it’s more about obscuring truth and facts, slanting reporting towards a common leftist narrative, and outright fabrication and lying. I’m sure the current crop of “stars” still see their efforts as just gently guiding the direction they prefer. That being said, it’s important to remember these people live in an insular world where they associate primarily with people who think and believe primarily what they do.

Wallace was terrible, but Pelley was insufferable. I have not watched the show in years. Largely because when I would occasionally turn it on, there was that smug SOB. Couldn’t stand him.
