WHAT IS THE LIFE OF A “SERVER” & HOW MUCH OF THAT CAN BE RECYCLED?

OR IS THIS ALL ANOTHER VERSION OF WINDMILL BLADES & SOLAR PANELS-—NOT RECYCLABLE???

Most corporate servers and laptops have a 3 to 5 year service life. By that point fans and batteries are approaching failure. Chip sets are too many generations old for the operating systems vendors to track and maintain. New hardware is purchased, software assets are migrated from old to new. The old hardware is sold to recyclers. The capital investment is retired from the rate base and salvage money is returned to the capital pool. Recycled parts are sold to small business and hobbyists. Frames and pc boards are torn down to recover valuable materials.
