John Madden allegedly said “don’t forget, there are THREE teams on the field every Sunday.” In turn, many coaches, after a close game where the outcome was potentially attributable to a bad call by a ref, will usually say “yeah, that was a bad call but we had plenty of opportunities to put it away but we didn’t execute.”
This applies to elections just as well.
Republicans have to overwhelm the opposing team so it doesn’t come down to a Bad Call or Tammany Hall tipping the scales.
I would LOVE for there to be fairness in politics. I would love for many pols to be doing the perp walk.
I would also love for there to be a Santa, and frankly there is a better chance that a fat man will deliver me and my family presents on Dec 25 than I’ll get a fair election.
The point of the analysis is that we have been - and will be for some time - in a close, one-score game. We need to recognize that Madden was right. Yes, of course we need reform, hawks watching mail-in ballot counting, and all that good stuff. Indeed, lightman is i]an official in PA and has some good observations a for those who want to learn.
But we also need to stop griping about the officials - yes Virginia, they cheat for the left - and absolutely destroy the opposition to life, liberty, and property in the court of public opinion.
It is not enough to philosophically and empirically obliterate their anti-capitalism and pro-gun control and pro-illegal alien bromides. We need to relentlessly stand up for truth, call out their filth, and drive the money changers from the Temple.
Trump did a lot of good work on that front from 2021-2024. He won in 2024 via gains in minorities and youngsters. And he was shot at.
But he’s term-limited. We need to red-pill more than enough voters from here on out, where the 51-yard pass interference calls don’t impact the outcome of the game.
Better yet, go full Eagles against the Chiefs.
