They’re using the T-1000 prototype mosquito!
We got rid of screw worms here in Texas back in the 60’s by breeding sterile flies and releasing them. And may have to do it again as the screw worms have begun to migrate north from Mexico. Using sterile insects isn’t a new thing. We also use IGR’s (Insect Growth Regulator) in pesticides to keep insects from maturing.

Since mosquitoa spread disease via bites, how would this help - unless the males mate with the females and produce other “infected” females.?
