JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A mother was arrested for D.U.I. after driving 120 miles per hour on I-10 with her three-year-old in the back seat, says the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).

According to JSO, an officer pulled over the mother after seeing her drive 120 miles per hour on I-10. The officer enlisted the help of D.U.I. Officer Ernesto Valerio after he smelled marijuana in the car.

An investigation determined that the mother was driving under the influence and found a lit marijuana joint and several empty bottles of alcohol after searching the car. Her three-year-old was in the backseat.

In the body cam footage posted on JSO’s social media, Officer Valerio asks the mother, “You think that’s a safe way of driving with him?”

JSO says that the mother was supposedly driving fast so she could get to her 10-year-old son, who was left at home.

The mother was arrested for D.U.I. and violating Florida’s Super Speeder law, which makes it a crime to go more than 100 miles per hour.

“Speed governors based on the tires? When did they start doing that and how hard is it to undo it?”

Easy to modify for a few bucks for a new tune but tune may be emissions illegal unless certified.

“and how hard is it to undo it?”

I would NEVER raise the factory setting without serious upgrades and track intentions.

No sane reason to do so.

The $50, $75, and $100 cars I went through during my teens in Texas with the bald tires and junk used tire replacements would never make it in today’s America, but most if not all of those old cars would hit between 115 and 120 and deliver some off ground flying on the small rise I used to hit at those speeds when we would go out to that country road outside of Houston.

Are we talking about 1950’s clunkers?

Most would never hit 115 even downhill.

“Mostly 60s, but they did what I said.”

Some could. Not many $75 clunkers could.

I drove it til 2006 then sold it to one of my employees and bought a 2006 CRV and its sitting in the driveway right now. Never breaks down.

"LOl, were you driving a lot of my cars?"

In the 60's I was driving 50's clunkers.

Had a 55 Dodge, $100, rust colored with green highlights. Did some sanding and polishing. Just 60 years before the look became popular.

Before looked a lot like this.

Nice, I did have a 55 chevy in high school that someone gave me, driving junker cars taught me to carry food and a blanket and a cotton sheet (Houston summer night heat and mosquitoes), back then you didn’t have to throw away your beer cans, you could build your collection of them in the back floorboard, but never having money for a good battery and always looking for bald used tires was a constant hassle, red tape or red plastic tape over broken tail lights.

Something I learned back then though was that a junker was no more likely to break down on the interstates than in the home city, so I would take them wherever I wanted to go.

Many of my older cars speedometers went to 160mph... What the hell was that for?

Anyone driving this fast in public should be charged with attempted murder.

Jeanine Pirro the current DC USA got busted doing 119 about a decade ago in upstate NY. She pleaded down to 95 and drivers school.
