You know, probably one of the hardest things to do in this world is to get hit by a train. They are huge and noisy and only travel on special tracks. You really have to work hard to set yourself up to get killed by a train. Takes real dedication to the art of stupidity.

I agree. Things do rarely happen. I recall reading some time ago about a guy who was killed because he had stopped to let a train go by, and some guy rear-ended him into the path of the oncoming train and he was killed

But 99% of the time it is just people doing things that common sense would tell them they shouldn't, or doing things they are being explicitly warned about by large red signs with white letters.

We were chasing a house burglar on the tracks along the Hudson River and out of a blind turn comes the NYC to Albany train at about 180 mph. We cleared those tracks and when the train passed no sign of the perp. We assumed he jumped into the river never to be seen again. That train was hauli
