I Love EVs, But Kia and Hyundai Are Making That Harder

My family leased a Kia EV9 and a Hyundai Ioniq 5. It shows your mileage may vary in even the most critically acclaimed electric cars.

Except for an accident (someone hit me in a parking lot) I cannot remember the last time I had to change a headlight bulb. At least 20 years ago

In the last 60 years (first obtained my drivers license in 1965), I have only had to replace two headlamps, once in the late '60s and again in the mid '90s.

Then 31 years without changing a bulb on my 1995 Nissan Pickup must be better?

(I’d bought a spare—which probably accounted for that luck.)

Although the silvery reflective surface is peeling off on all three!

The only bulb I’ve had to replace in the last 30 years was a taillight bulb on my 2005 Jeep Wrangler.

I broke my F-15 taillight. Amazon has them for about $100.

I remember breaking one on my mom’s 1978 station wagon. In 1981 that light cost me $350.

A car wash just tore off my sideview mirror. $85 on Amazon
