I was a career machinist, a fairly high level tool and die, CNC and all around conventional machinist at that. I can tell you the numbers ALWAYS add up. If they somehow don’t it means you’re measuring it the wrong way. And that’s their problem.

"I have measured for framing up walls before, and the numbers just didn’t add up..." Same problem with the numbers in my check book -- mine say one thing, my bank says something else, same inputs, how can that be?
Maybe we need to change the laws of math to account for the discrepancies?
