If you paid me to ruin a movie, I still couldn’t have done it this masterfully

I swear those are two of the homeliest people on earth. He has the looks of a crybaby, and her neck and face defy any logical description.
Helen of Troy...Michigan.
Chris Nolan desecrated the Odyssey so that he would be eligible for an Academy Award …
I love Diane Kruger.
I dont know who produced it but my first educated guess would be Disney, even though I seriously doubt its them, its just what they do.
Now I know why 1000 ships left. They got the hell out of there.
Or Alabama
We conservatives are gradually learning to not fear being unjustly defamed as "racists" by the Radical Left - but the Academy Awards are themselves overtly, explicitly, and proudly racist. It is officially enshrined in the rules according to which Oscars are awarded.
In my eyes, the Oscars are as noteworthy as any prize awarded by the K.K.K.
Regards,
They don’t care
Politics Trump profits
Don’t tell me the whoever’s who run Hollywood out there are just about the money
Just like media
Paying Trump after slandering or over editing him is worth the fine to smear him and us
They use stockholder money to push their agenda
Suicidal empathy and DEI and a visceral hatred of the Christian or even Hellenic west
Wood crickets they are
I really laughed out loud at that!
I would add that this started with the auteur director fetish in the 70s after the old studio system was abolished. That's when we started getting movies made to satisfy the anti-bourgeois sentiments of directors and critics and not the audiences. But those directors had not yet reached the current stage of cultural depravity and vandalism.
Yes…it is the mentally ill woman pretending to be a man, cast in the role of the Mighty Achilles.
Just cannot wrap my head around that except to conclude she was cast for wholly woke purposes which is the only thing that fits.
Pushing their idealolgy isn’t cheap when nobody believes or wants anything you say.
I’ve just started Wilson’s translation of the Iliad, having decided to give it a fair shot. So far, I am only through the introduction, which, quite honestly, is excellent. We’ll see.
A tax write off is only good if there is profit to write down with expenses(losses)😂😎
I agree that people shouldn’t run wild based on internet speculation. Sometimes the rumors are true. Sometimes they’re not.
As far as I know, there is no confirmation of Ellen/Elliot Page’s role. Several characters have been rumored. For some reason, Achilles is much mentioned. I don’t know how that started. My guess would be that it is from people venting about woke Hollywood and projecting the most outrageous thing they can think of.
So LOL if it’s true and LOL if it’s not.
Fwiw, Achilles had been killed before the Trojan Horse caper. Legolas did not kill him during the sack; that was Hollywood nonsense. Achilles only comes into the Odyssey when Odysseus meets him in the underworld. Other than that, he’s referenced a couple of times by other characters, so he could appear in the movie as a flashback.
It occurs to me that Nolan has some latitude in how to depict spirits in the underworld. They could be frail, withered wraiths, ghostly whisps of the robust people they were in life. As long as all the spirits are depicted consistently, I suppose that’s possible. Or Page could be playing someone else. Hermes has also been rumored.
I do dislike the stuntcasting of Helen and Clytemnestra.
I do try to be disciplined about not prejudging something before it’s released. Then I’ll read enough reviews before deciding whether to buy a ticket. A little due diligence goes a long way. Sometimes I’ll watch a movie just to see what all the fuss is about, and sometimes as deliberate opposition research — because if I’m tempted to throw stones, I should at least actually know what I’m talking about, as opposed to relying on internet graffiti.
Agree
Inclusion is the intentional practice of ensuring all individuals—regardless of their race, gender, abilities, or background—feel valued, respected, and empowered to participate fully.
Oh well so much for that agendas matter most.
So that leaves us left with what? ‘Stupid’?
Not good.
