A young liberal woman refused to cooperate with prosecutors after violent recidivist Rhamell Burke attacked her on the subway five weeks before he allegedly pushed a retired NYC teacher to his death on Thursday.
Now the 23-year-old woman has regrets.
“Maybe a part of me was just like, I don’t want to put another black man in jail,” she told The Post.

Maybe if she had indulged in less self-congratulatory empathy for the maniac who allegedly tried to kill her and felt more compassion for her fellow New Yorkers left to the mercy of an out-of-control predator roaming the streets, Ross Falzone would still be alive.
But Falzone, 76, was unlucky enough to be entering the Chelsea subway station Thursday afternoon when Burke allegedly randomly shoved him down a flight of stairs, leaving the beloved ex-teacher to die hours later at Bellevue Hospital from a catastrophic brain injury.
The woman’s irrational attitude to public safety is a textbook example of suicidal empathy, the condition described by evolutionary psychologist Gad Saad in which compassion becomes so excessive that people or societies make decisions that undermine their own survival.
‘Woke mind virus’
It’s as good an explanation as any to describe the years-long harassment campaign by sizable chunks of the public against law enforcement in New York and around the country, even as chaos and disorder grow, the predators get bolder, and the body count grows.
The irony is that women, just like Burke’s lucky victim, are overrepresented in the ranks of angry anti-NYPD, anti-ICE agitators. They are among the most vulnerable targets of violent predators, yet they insist on protecting them

Which is why ancient civilizations did not give women prominent roles in government. Obviously, there was a good reason why they did that.
Exactly.
I Still think toxoplasmosis from cats has something to do with this...brain viruses are mysterious things...we know more about covid...(lol)
I thought the U was for ugly
Pathological compassion!
She is as much responsible for the man’s death as anyone. She should never know any peace, and have nightmares for the rest of her life.
The 19th has proven to be a disaster, and I’m afraid things will only get worse as more and more women get in positions of power.
We’re quickly becoming a matriarchy. More masculine cultures and countries are salivating.
It’s called Suicidal Empathy.

We should set a national target of publicly hanging 1% of convicted violent / sexual felonious criminals every year.
Crime would drop precipitously. Countless other social ills would disappear. Tens of thousands of lives would be saved.
It would actually be the most humane policy government could institute.
Because there are plenty in the suburbs.
I am a woman, and I am 83 years old. I am old enough to remember high school history. I seem to remember that only gainfully employed men and landowners were eligible to vote. (My memory might be a bit rusty)
I wonder how our elections would look if we still followed out original constitution. I assume these men had just a good understanding of human behavior when they developed those rules. Women voting is a bit sticky today, with so many divorced, hard working, self-employed, and working in high talent required professions.
But, it seems reasonable to me that people who vote to take money from the public purse should not be permitted to vote to take from the producers - to support those people who are unwilling to work for themselves. I think of that first year in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Private funds from the willing citizens is available for those in need through no fault of their own. And in my present opinion, charity is best handled at the local level, and the federal government shouldn’t be expected to do so.
I do doubt that many will find my views “harsh”. I understand. I tend to take a much longer view of our history, not to mention the foibles of human nature.
You said it much better than I did, and you saved a lot of pixels! Excellent, and this old grandma completely agrees.
I agree there are plenty of AWFLS in the suburbs, but the Urban AWFL is way more plentiful and they are more tightly condensed which makes them way more dangerous.
The 19th Amendment was a horrible mistake.

But you see, he wasn’t “guilty” by reason of insanity.
That’s what I call insane.
The idea that you let loose a violent maniac on innocent people minding their business because he’s “insane” is downright crimina!
