86 has always been a Mafia term meaning off him. Since when has it been a restaurant term Mediots?

Since they want to defend Comey.

They know just what they’re doing.

It started in the mafia owned restaurants.

In the 70s and 80s getting 86'd meant getting banned from a bar. At least on the west coast that's what it meant. I never heard the Mafia association until recently.

It’s been restaurant lingo for years. I know this through personal experience. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t also a mob term for “eliminating” someone.

BTW, the term’s use in restaurants goes back almost a century, and may very well pre-date its use in mob lingo. I don’t know for certain if it pre-dates its mob use, but regardless, it’s restaurants for quite a long time, and anyone who’s worked in a restaurant is familiar with its usage.
