I read something just recently that over in one of the European countries they started painting ONE of the wind turbine blades black. That it reduced bird strikes by 70%.

It did not say anything about bats though. They are flying around at night, so they don't see anything when they get whacked by the big fiberglass blade.

That’s interesting.

I fully admit, I don’t know (and honestly, never cared to dig into it) the extent of bird strikes beyond that it happens.

But I fully embraced the bird strike issue as a cudgel to use against Leftist Environazis who support wind power AND wildlife preservation.

It always was an entertaining and pointed way to place them on the horns of a dilemma that was unresolvable for them, and I rather enjoyed seeing them squirm!

Does that make me a bad person????

Bats fly by eco-location, much like sonar, not by sight.
