The Daily Mail revealed on Monday that the President is related to the King via their shared ancestor in the 3rd Earl of Lennox, a great-grandson of King James II of Scotland.
The Daily Mail's research found the connection makes Trump and Charles 15th cousins.
Trump reacted to the news on Truth Social: 'Wow, that’s nice. I’ve always wanted to live in Buckingham Palace!!! I’ll talk to the King and Queen about this in a few minutes!!'

I actually have a Bacon Number of three. When I was in college I got a (very) small, but IMDB credited role in a Charles Guggenheim documentary on the Johnstown Flood. It was narrated by Len Cariou who was in "Thirteen Days," with Armen Garo who was in, "The Demon Murder Case,"...with Kevin Bacon.
The film went on to win the Oscar that year for best documentary short. As a single guy, one of the most useful lines I was ever able to use was that I was an IMDB credited actor in an Academy award winning film :-)

The younger children of British aristocrats didn’t inherit titles*, so they eventually intermarried with commoners and faded into the general population. It isn’t so surprising that so many Americans have a dash of royal ancestry. It was different on the continent where all the children and grandchildren of nobles remained noble.
*Well, they had “courtesy titles” like “the honourable” and “lord” or “lady,” but unless they could earn a title of their own, their children would be commoners.

Has anyone figured out what number President Trump is in succession for the throne? I’d like to know how long his list is, a la Kind Hearts and Coronets.

Yup. Plus, math is on the side of finding historical figures; not only did they tend to have the resources to keep them well-fed and healthy, there are only just so many people from whom to be descended.
I expected nothing of the kind, was flabbergasted to find some people from the history books.
Even in North America, a posh ancestor’s portrait is hanging in a museum somewhere, gotta go see that sometime. I animated it using that Heritage gizmo, the result was startling.
OTOH, the paper trail is one thing, but the actual ancestry can be quite different. Heh.
So how many people would have to , “ not be here anymore,” for Trump to be king. Good question
