WASHINGTON — Duck, cover, and grab the wine!
A woman was caught on camera blissfully snatching bottles of wine during the chaotic aftermath of the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
While throngs of reporters and other guests fled the Washington Hilton ballroom, an unknown blond woman wearing posh black fur went straight for a table to stockpile booze.
Because the shooting took place early, during the salad portion of the marquee dinner, there was an abundance of wine left abandoned at tables across the ballroom.
The woman’s identity is not immediately clear, and it’s not apparent whether she was a journalist or some other guest.

She may not be alone. The guy behind the table on the left side of the photo also seems to have a full bottle of champaign in his left hand and I don’t think the wait staff is going to continue serving after the first shot. I think we have come up with the reason for the attack, i.e., to cover this heist.

I don’t blame anyone in attendance who chose to eat something before leaving. Given the disorderly ending to the event, who knows how long it would be before they get a chance to eat again.
It’s easy to criticize people you don’t like but people were probably very hungry. They had been there since around 6:30 and the shooting happened two hours later. People hadn’t even got to eat their salad by then. I think I might have grabbed some rolls and some wine. No way you’re going to get into a good restaurant in DC at that hour.
This is a tough crowd!
That’s a woman with the right priorities. Really that fairly standard action movie gag, if crazy stuff happens at a party, when the crazy stuff is done, grab a bottle.
Well, it is really good to know of your hatred for champagne. Time well spent on your part to let us all know that tidbit.

I worked on papers in high school and college. Wasnt going to be a journalist but most others there were. One thing about them is they party very hard and they drink a lot. These guys/gals started partying Thursday nights thru Sunday. Many turn out to be hardcore drinkers.
So totally not surprised they go after the booze like this.

I saw several steeling wine bottles and one black chick stuffing her face over and over with food, while others in the background were taking unopened wine.
Ah, come on people... They were journalist, the scum of the earth! Right down there with school teachers.. Well, almost. :)
