I purchased some stereo computer speakers w/woofer from a vendor on Amazon. They arrived on schedule but the box had already been ripped open and the cables shoved in all tangled up like a backlash on a fishing reel. The protective sleeves for the items were at the bottom of the box.
Also, the other owner neglected to put the instructions back in the box. So, I'm gwine return it.
I formerly returned items for free dropoff at the nearest UPS store. But, they've changed it. Now it's either Whole Foods or Rent A Center. However, Rent A Centers locally are not equipped to offer such a service. They say they've been informed they'll be doing such returns but they've received no equipment for such.
That leaves Whole Foods as the only other option. Bummer, as they're on the other side of the next city over.

Sorry, yes.
Amazon prime
The next day I got an email from Amazon, telling me they received notice from UPS that the item had been returned, and my account was credited. About 30 days later, I got an email from Amazon telling me that I hadn't returned the item, and that they were charging me for the wrap I had shipped back. I called Amazon customer service, told the girl that I had received an email from them saying the package had been returned. The girl cleared the problem (or so I thought), and gave me the credit again for the first wrap.
In January of February of this year, I received another email from Amazon, once again telling me that I had not returned the first wrap, and that they were charging my account once again. I called again, spoke to a customer service rep, and hopefully she fixed the problem for real this time, and so far, I haven't received any more nasty grams from Amazon. This time, because so much time had passed since the original belt was returned and credited to my account, Amazon instead put the amount on a gift card. It's getting so that I worry every time I have to send an item back, that this kind of crap will happen again. When you're old, you don't like to be inconvenienced, or waste time you'll never get back.
On February 13, 2026, we ordered a Batman Ramen Bowl w/chopsticks. We had also ordered a Spider-man Ramen Bowl w/chopsticks. Both packages were to be delivered the next day. On the Spider-man bowl was delivered, but the idiot Amazon delivery person took and picture of the same box, and claimed that those two items had been delivered. I had to call Amazon customer service again, and explain to the that we'd only gotten one bowl, that the Batman bowl never arrived, and that the driver had sent two separate emails for each item, that showed the one box for both deliveries. They sent a replacement that arrived on February 26th. I'm waiting to see if I get any nasty gram telling me I didn't return the first Batman bowl that never arrived.
Today I had to return a new toilet seat, because the parts bag was missing one of the large plastic wing nuts that holds everything together. Instead of crediting my account, once again, they put the refund amount on a gift card. This is telling me they are still charging me interest for an item I paid for with my Amazon store card and returned. They're not asking you anymore where you want the money credited to.
I just dropped a return to Amazon today at my local UPS store. There were several people in line ahead of me. I noticed a guy who had come in before me, went over near the printers, and used a scanner so you can process the package yourself. You just let it scan the return symbol you printed up off Amazon, and it registers the package, prints the label, and gives you the option to get a receipt, and in what form you want it. I had it print a receipt for me. I was out quickly, while other people that were ahead of me when I first came in, were still standing in line to see a clerk. I never knew there was a scanner for your use until I saw another customer use it, so I went right over after he left and completed my return. I don't think any of the other people took notice of me doing it, and probably didn't realize that the self-serve scanner was even there.
A friend described the same experience recently. It was an inexpensive item so she just decided to live with it and quit buying things from Amazon. We live on a private road in a slightly rural area with mailboxes on a township road, a quarter of a mile away. This is about 70 miles as the crow flies from NYC. If the package is too big for our mailbox, we have to retrieve it from the post office in the next county, a 30 mile round trip.
Depends on the area, I guess. I still have multiple return options. The UPS store, Kohls, Whole Foods among them.
we can use Kohls and Staples.
I am having to pay to return two poorly fitting jackets to China—after being told I would be sent a pre-paid label!
Whole Foods and FedEx were the only ones listed on my recent Amazon return. But then I noticed a”see other options “ hyperlink and found choices which included UPS.
