Reminds me of an hilarious News Reader story. Just like the Sum Ting Wong / Wee Tu Lo from San Francisco fame, this one took place across the Bay, in Oakland. Before the Internet, we listened to the “Every 10 Minutes Traffic Report” on the radio to avoid major traffic/accidents. CalTrans is California’s Department of Transportation. One day, the News Reader said this:
“There is a truck overturned on the 880 Nimitz Freeway in Oakland. The truck spilled a lot of white powder onto the roadway. CalTrans is on the way with straws.”
The News Reader may not have been aware. They just go on to the next story.
