The trial of alleged Charlie Kirk killer Tyler Robinson continued this week in Utah.
The defense team for Tyler Robinson filed a motion this week asking the court to hold the Utah County Attorney and his team in contempt.
Tyler Robinson is charged with one count of aggravated murder with the victim targeting enhancement, one count of felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, and two counts of obstruction of justice with capital or first-degree felony conduct.
Prosecutors revealed the campus cameras captured Tyler Robinson going to the snipers perch, taking the shot at Charlie Kirk, and then running away into a wooded area.
That’s going to be evidence that will be difficult to beat in court.

That test was badly flawed and inaccurate. The shots were through a screen at a range of 5 feet. That is before the bullet goes to sleep, typically around 100 yards. Shoot a tree at ten feet, it stays in the tree... shoot the tree at 100 yards and it more easily drills right through after it stabilizes.
The NRA put out a book detailing some interesting WWII studies. They wanted to know how deep a pilot had to dive to avoid strafing fighters. They suspended the standard 7/8 pine boards at various depths in the water and shot them from heights.
The bullets did not explode but penetrated deep. They test revealed that if a man could get 3 feet under, he would be safe because an attacking plane would never be shooting from more than a 45% angle so with the angle, he would have at least 5 feet of water protecting him.
Very cool US Army test that the NRA was involved in.
Sure.... sure. But watching police procedural dramas is a famous chick pastime. And they love all those “he really didn’t do it” shows about OJ, the “Making of a Murderer” shows, etc...
And the BTSP is not the toughest bullet style known either... and they sail right through.
China.
Russia.
Iran.
Belarus.
If the bullet cannot be linked to that gun, it is necessary to speculate that the recovered gun was planted there before the shooting.
Candace is morbidly jealous of Erica and wishes Charlie had married her or made her queen of Turning Point instead of Erika. Illogical, since she has a husband of means and several children with him, but she still comes off like a scorned ex, not a serious analyst of facts.
It all depends on the jury's perceptions. I am still seething about the OJ Simpson defense "If the glove don't fit, you must acquit" because no one explained to the jury that leather shrinks and contracts quite noticeably if it becomes wet, either with blood or being left out in the damp. To wear the glove again at full size, you have to stretch it patiently from side to side and top to bottom to return its original size. None of that was explained, and it sounded like that info was not even known by the prosecution.
So I certainly hope the ballistics info about the shattering of the round that hit bone is explained very, very thoroughly to the jury. The chances of a jury of actual peers not having heard any rumors or social media garbage about the facts of the case is virtually impossible in this day and age.
I recall one account that a few people tried to delay the ambulance that attended to Charlie Kirk. Were they tipped off in advance?
Also, Tampon Tim Walz said something to the effect that “something big” was going to happen.
