The trial of alleged Charlie Kirk killer Tyler Robinson continued this week in Utah.
The defense team for Tyler Robinson filed a motion this week asking the court to hold the Utah County Attorney and his team in contempt.
Tyler Robinson is charged with one count of aggravated murder with the victim targeting enhancement, one count of felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, and two counts of obstruction of justice with capital or first-degree felony conduct.
Prosecutors revealed the campus cameras captured Tyler Robinson going to the snipers perch, taking the shot at Charlie Kirk, and then running away into a wooded area.
That’s going to be evidence that will be difficult to beat in court.

In criminal trials it’s important that defense lawyers get all evidence gathered by prosecutors including evidence that is exculpatory or exonerating to the accused.
No hiding of evidence from defense lawyers by the prosecutors period.
This will insure that any conviction of Robinson for killing Charlie Kirk will stand up on appeal.
Releasing evidence selectively before trials to influence a jury may get the jury to go the prosecution way at trial but there’s more to the process.
Death penalty in utah - couldn’t be applied in one high profile case. Appeals dragged on for enough decades that the killer developed dementia (allegedly).

“While Utah was a pioneer in modern executions, only eight people have been executed since 1977.”
In another case a thug caught two teenagers smoking dope with his girlfriend without him present. He said he was merciful by slitting their throats and dumping them down a mine shaft. Only hope for justice is if another inmate administers it.
Oh, yeah, but we still get dimwits on this very website who breathlessly post that “THE BALLISTICS DON’T MATCH THE FIREARM!!!!!”

I just re-read Norman Mailers' book, The Executioner's Song, about Gary Gilmore, who pleaded for his execution in Utah despite appeals efforts on his behalf. His wish was granted.

Mythbusters did a segment related to this topic. They were testing whether you can swim underwater to shield yourself from gunfire.
What they found was that pistol and shotgun ammunition was able to penetrate several feet, so the swimmer was not protected.
All supersonic rifle ammunition, up to and including .50-cal, exploded on the surface and broke into tiny pieces.
Adam Savage did a follow-up in his podcast.
He revealed that subsequent to the above episode, he learned that high-velocity ammunition is designed to "mechanically couple" with fleshy targets upon impact and immediately fragment to take as much flesh as possible with it as it exits.
We saw this during the Kyle Rittenhouse trial when he shot Gaige Grosskreutz, vaporizing Grosskeutz's bicep.

Now hmmm, what country is renown for manipulation, spying, assassination, online identification and grooming of weak souls? Robinson screwed things up for the conspirators. He was supposed get gunned down in the wild, out somewhere in town. Wrap it all up nicely in a bow.

My questions are: 1) Why didn’t the 30-06 round go right through Kirk? I’ve put .308 150 grain BTSP rounds through deer that hit bone and still exited at 147 yds. A human neck isn’t nearly as tough as a deer’s body. 2) The school has cameras normally posted aimed at flat rooftops? That seems odd. Who does that?
Something still smells about that whole event and what that freak had to do to pull it off. JMO.
