Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell on Sunday evening dropped out of the California Governor’s race amid allegations of sexual assault.
Swalwell apologized to his family, staffers, and supporters and vowed to fight the “false allegations” against him.
Statement from Swalwell:
I am suspending my campaign for Governor.
To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past.
I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made — but that’s my fight, not a campaign’s.
Meanwhile, the Manhattan District Attorney has launched an investigation into Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell over serious allegations of sexual assault.
The San Francisco Chronicle on Friday published a story about a woman who claimed that Democrat Eric Swalwell sexually assaulted her twice.
The woman, who worked as a staffer in Swalwell’s office for two years, told The San Francisco Chronicle that Swalwell began pursuing her just weeks after she was hired at the age of 21 in 2019.
After the San Francisco Chronicle dropped its bombshell report on Swalwell, three additional women spoke to CNN and provided evidence about alleged additional misconduct by the California Democrat.
The Swalwell staffer said she was sexually assaulted by Swalwell in 2019
The staffer also said Swalwell raped her years later in 2024 after she left his employment.
The unidentified former female staffer sat down with CNN and recounted some of the horrific details about the alleged rape that occurred in 2024.
“I went to the bathroom, and I don’t remember anything after that,” she said, adding that she “remembered the next day.”
“I can see flashes of that evening of him on top of me, me pushing him off, him grabbing me. It was a lot more aggressive. It was aggressive,” she said about the 2024 assault.
“He didn’t stop. He didn’t stop. I woke up the next morning naked, alone in his hotel. I, for a moment, didn’t even know that I was in his hotel room. That’s how intoxicated I was,” she said.
CNN said they corroborated the woman’s claims by speaking with friends and family that she confided in. CNN also reviewed photos and screenshots of contemporaneous text messages. The outlet reviewed a message from her medical provider the week after she received the pregnancy and STD test calling her a “survivor.”
More than 50 former Swalwell staffers on Sunday demanded the California Democrat resign from Congress.
Unfortunately I suspect people in California will vote for her.....they’d rather set themselves on fire than vote for a Republican....even if it means more pain.
It’s about time we started throwing those far-left DemonRAT knuckledraggers out of our Congress.

A GOP governor could slow up or block a lot of the Dem money stream they are getting from Federal government.
The billions that various people are stealing through fraud is getting back to the Dem Pols in campaign donations.
This is the only reason why they have allowed it to continue in states like CA, MN, ME, etc. Their VOTERS are the ones committing the fraud. IF they stop the fraud it directly effects the Dem politicians.
Exactly, so the Dems will literally do anything to prevent a GOP Governor. CA fraud is a cash cow for them, they cannot allow it to be taken away.

And yes, this most likely was done to Swawell at this time to clear a path for Democrat Tom Steyer for governor. The Dems need to clear the field b/c the Dem votes are split between too many candidates, allowing two Republicans to lead in the polls.
Recent polling trends show:
Steve Hilton (R): 16–19% in various March–April 2026 polls
Chad Bianco (R): 12–14%
Eric Swalwell (D): 13–17% before withdrawal
Katie Porter (D): 8–13%
Tom Steyer (D): 10–13%
Undecided voters: Remain high, at around 25–30%
This never should have been an issue. He should have been removed from Congress and his political career ended over his sharing secrets with Fang Fang. That should have put him in prison and none of the rest would have happened.
A friend from Minneapolis explained that the Somalis vote as a group(their tribe). Whoever the tribal leader says to cast your vote for gets 100% support for that politician.
This is why they can get so much leverage.
They turn out and vote as a block.
So, that politician is indebted to them especially in close races or primaries.
So with Swalwell out some other Dim will get his votes (the main purpose for getting him out) increasing chances one Dim might come in 2nd if not first, increasing Dim chances in November.

This behavior has been well known for years and yet all of the demonRATs looked away.
Swallow-it-all has been a disgrace to all men forever and he can't go away fast enuff, but jail time, never happen.
Lots of “groups” do that. We have a Pakistani in our boat club, his mosque votes as a group. Remember last election the Pakistanis were threatening to all vote for Trump because they were being mistreated by Biden or something. They typically vote for the Democrat but wanted to flex their muscles. These people don’t really assimilate, no more melting pot.
Only ARRESTS matter.
Katie Porter swings a big stick in CA. She and the rest of the left and their obedient media did not care about Swalwell’s indiscretions one little bit. Until he threatened their death grip on California.
Non of this has been a secret. It was intel. “Wait until we need it.” Suddenly, the left cares deeply and their obedient media suddenly discovers the huge importance of a story that has been there for years.
Now resign from Congress.
“A GOP Governor in CA will reek havoc on their plans.”
I doubt that. A GOP governor would be recalled within 90 days of his election.
Plus this terrible person. How many more? Congress has blocked the release of those that had taxpayers pay off.
