Yep. I’m rather sure the point of Trump’s post was to take a jab at Pope Leo. And such a jab is richly deserved, as Leo will not stay in his lane.
The problem is that the picture is way too subtle in that regard. Many good conservatives will see it as sacrilegious. That is not an unreasonable conclusion.

Plus Trump is putting down, ridiculing his fellow American from Chicago. This makes it more reasonable. Less offensive.
Trump is 80 years old, he is done with suffering fools gladly.
