Locked in a bedroom ? Is this an old folks home ?
I thought typically you could only lock a bedroom door from the inside. At least that is what I believe is code here in the USA.

We had locks on our bedroom door when the kids were still living in the house for obvious reasons as I’m sure many will attest. And if anyone mentions she’s 89 years old...good for her.
Besides, locks break sometimes and except for pounding on the walls, she was trapped.
