To be honest, I haven’t had much experience with them. So I’m not going to argue with you.
But then, my dogs of choice (dobies and rotties) have come under fire here on the Freep.
And I’ve been laughed at and told by a fellow freeper that I must like to engage in lewd acts with with Yorkies because I was bitten by one as a toddler. My one vet said that all dogs can snap, all dogs can maim, it largely depends on the dog, it’s level of training and personality. Now, granted, some dogs can do a heck of a lot more damage (like a Rottie, a Dobe, and all the big breeds, etc.)
The bottom line — this is a sad story, and I hope it all works out. Prayers up for everyone involved.
Have a good one, my friend.
Nothing to argue
I like dangerous dogs but I don’t think personality wise they are great family pets
But u have to have control them
My life history at 69 in November (no jokes please)
Starting 1960 I think
wienheimer boy

German shepherd boy
Giant schnauzer boy
Rott male

Dobie male
Scott American bulldog male
Rott male
Johnson American bulldog
Rott male and male brothers
Scott American bulldog son of above
Rott male
Chihuahua old female
Chorgi male half corgi half Chihuahua
That’s it and my current Rott Rommel is ten in October
Like you I prefer Rotts and Dobies but Dobie are too much now at my age and systemic arthritis
Rommel is with me 24/7 right next to me
I’ve also owned duck dogs and you can’t beat a female lab for that
My first Rott saved my girlfriends life from home invader
Zero training he had for that
I like dogs better than people
I meant to say I have reservations about huskies or mutes as family dogs
Better for sole owner
Rotts are great for family
