You should move to North Carolina. I have a lifetime hunting/fishing license because of my old age, but the fishing regulations are so strict that you can’t keep enough saltwater fish to eat, and some like flounder and trout you can’t catch at all. The reasoning is that recreational fishing depletes the sport fishing stocks, but the truth is our legislative members are owned by the commercial fisheries, which are allowed to net harvest tens of thousands of pounds of fish in the Pamlico sound, one of our largest fish nurseries. Right now, I’d gladly pay for another license just to be able to eat some fish.
