“I don’t do cruise ships. A waste of time and resources IMHO.”
Our daughter and SIL invited us to go with them on a cruise from Seattle to Alaska. That’s been at the very bottom of my bucket list, but we said “yes.” Once was enough. I just do not enjoy “manufactured fun” things like cruise ships or Disneyland.
Now being a seaplane pilot? That sounds like a lot of fun. I’ve taken two seaplane rides in my life, one up Lake Chelan and one from Como, Italy to Bellagio. Both were outstanding.
Flying a seaplane is the last real remnant of flying left in the States. All seat of the pants and visual. You just take-off, climb to 1000’, and fly the rivers, bays, or coastlines. No IFR flying. No night time flying. All VFR, and just a few instruments. No air traffic control. No bureaucrats. Purely skill and thrill. Both very rare in aviation these days.
arrange to go for ride-a-longs with local patrol LEOs on Friday or Saturday evenings during the summer, preferably in urban or suburban settings ... 1,000% more entertaining than any amusement park ...
