A world-renowned Napa Valley restaurant has been hit with bombshell claims of unpaid wages and vile bathrooms.

Elena Flows Beteta is suing French Laundry and Thomas Keller Restaurant Group over alleged violations of the California labor code, per the Press Democrat.

Beteta, who worked as a dishwasher from 2022-2025, filed the suit in Napa County Superior Court on behalf of her and “over fifty current and former aggrieved employees,” she claims.

They claim the restaurant and its owners failed to “consistently pay for all hours worked, including overtime hours.”

Beteta and the other employees allege they were repeatedly “required to work off the clock” and to complete “post-shift tasks” for which they were unpaid, such as cleaning walls and mopping floors.

One of the more shocking allegations included employee bathrooms were a 10-minute walk from the restaurant, located inside a nearby storage unit and “consistently filthy,” the lawsuit states.

Employees claimed they “frequently missed meal periods,” and when they were provided, they were “often later, short and/or interrupted.”

Rest periods were also “frequently missed” and “not scheduled into daily shifts,” the lawsuit states.

They also were allegedly denied “suitable resting facilities,” and often forced to lean up against a wall or take their rest breaks in their car.

That was the restaurant Newscum attended a birthday party, violating his own Covid lockdown rules. Party goers wore no masks, but forced servers to wear them.

Consistently filthy restrooms are the fault of the users. Clean up after yourselves!

But a ten-minute walk off site to use them is unreasonable.

This is payback because Keller helped block a low income housing project near the restaurant.
