SAN FRANCISCO — A mystery man known as “John Doe” has been charged with identity theft and passport fraud, and refuses to give up his true identity even though it means he’ll be kept behind bars indefinitely, court records show.
Doe, whose name and age are unknown to authorities, is charged with stealing the identity of a Puerto Rican native who claimed to have lost important documents and identification papers 15 years ago, court records show. On March 10, U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisa Cisneros used Doe’s refusal to identify himself as the basis for determining that he is a potential flight risk and ordered him detained while the case is pending.
Despite this, Doe has held steadfast and refused to provide an identity, court records show. He’s next due in court on April 3 after his lawyer requested a short delay in the proceedings.
Doe was charged on March 6. The criminal complaint says that in 2024 he applied for a U.S. passport in San Francisco, using the identity and paperwork of a person known in court only as “Victim One.” Police contacted the alleged victim who claimed personal documents had been stolen from a Puerto Rican hospital in the early 2000s. Two of the alleged victim’s brothers were asked to pick out “your brother” from a photo lineup that also included Doe and selected Victim One, authorities say.
The passport fraud charge carries up to 10 years in federal prison, court records show.
Despite the alleged fraud, Doe has successfully duped state officials time and time again, according to the criminal complaint. It says that the state of California issued Doe a driver’s license in Victim One’s name, and that Doe was arrested “on six separate occasions” from 2010-2014 under the false alias, without it being discovered until he submitted the fake passport application.
The criminal complaint contains a DMV photo of Doe, with a Diplomatic Security Services agent adding that his “true identity is currently unknown to me.”

Very likely and probably a known terrorist.
Some people are so used to living on the wrong side of the law, that the idea of staying locked up in jail does not phase them in the least. He may see it as easy living for a few years. A good place to hide for the time being.
Free room and board, medical treatment, meals and a clean uniform.
He’s probably content going w/o barbering service too. Content to keep growing his beard out until he looks like a Chia plant. Time to slowly downgrade the service, make it less like a vacation resort.

Many Dominicans pretend to be Puerto Rican because they know that Puerto Rico is a US Territory. This is very prevalent in Allentown PA, with hundreds of illegal alien Dominicans living in the city.
Trump needs to send ICE to the Lehigh Valley, Reading and Hazelton PA. We are flooded with illegals. They are everywhere now.
Now that we have his DNA and fingerprints.
He well become, known by whatever the court decides.
Or is found out about him.
My guess he is illegal and comes from a country with good records.
Could be the Nancy Guthrie abductor.
$100.00 to any fellow prisoner that can reveal true name.
Maybe if we sent his arms and legs, separately, to various countries, they could see if the DNA comes up with any positives.
If that doesn’t help, maybe organs could be sent to provide even better DNA.
