I hadn't been at all familiar before you named them.
Melancholy, for sure.
Nice version. I know it. Love the lyrics. And either Molly or Jenny whichever you choose “The devils in the women and they never can be easy” is a great line.
I agree it’s a great line. And I am a woman.😊
Best song for St.Paddy's Day, or any day really, is Fairy Tale of New York, a paean to the Irish psyche despite its Christmastime setting.
Many of my ancestors, shanty and lace curtain Irish, lived a life voiced in that song.

The large drum carried the insciription "Port Authority Police • New York • New Jersey"
Amen and amen!
Port authority. Ok. They lost a lot of people who were helping- ran to the disaster
“On September 11, 2001, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) suffered the largest loss of personnel in a single police department in U.S. history, with 84 employees killed, including 37 police officers, while evacuating the World Trade Center. PAPD officers played a critical role in rescuing thousands of people before the towers collapsed.”
Love it! Thanks!
That tune is ‘Minstrel Boy’

This thread needs a song from The Boss.
No, it doesn’t.
Ditto for Boner and U2.
Can I get me a hearty Begorrah BeJeeze ! ! !
...That’s a lovely Englishman my mother sent to me
I’ve roamed the whole world over,
a hundred times or more,
But an Englishman who could last ‘til three
I never saw before!
C’mon, now...even I sing it better than that!
Happy St Patrick”s Day, Merlin girl!
