I understand that the theoretical downside of using the Alcubierre drive is that when you reach your destination and want to slow it down it may smash up objects in local space, rather counter productive for the destination.

I suppose opening a wormhole would also be chancy....suppose it closes and you cant reopen it, or, after reopening it might not reconnect to the same Space or Time period?? (I think this was a Star Trek plot that I am remembering....)

So, hair works for me.
