Curiosity. It’s a sign of intelligence. Doesn’t mean that once here, they would want to stick around. Can’t blame them, considering the current state of FUBAR we’re in.
That said, I really don’t believe there are such ETs...ie from ‘outer space’. More like powers and principalities from “inner space” and another dimension. As long as they’ve been “sighted”, yet no real and valid photos or proof... even with most folks having a handy dandy recording device attached to their persons... tells me that it’s just another farce and fantasy.

Any alien race smart enough and with enough resources to spend on visiting us are smart enough to have other things to do.
