This post and story should be immediately retracted by ABC News for providing false information to intentionally alarm the American people.
They wrote this based on one email that was sent to local law enforcement in California about a single, unverified tip. The email even states the tip was based on *unverified* intelligence. Yet ABC News left out this critical fact in their story! WHY?

No idea about this story, but it certainly seems obvious some random freighter can be equipped to launch drones from offshore a fly inland a few hundred miles. The Ukrainians have done this to hit the St Petersburg area so no particular reason Iran could not do the same.

Specific to the point such that the NY Times tries to pimp that the US (not Israel even) hit a school (from “old data”— what idiocy. We see real time and the Iranians put a launcher in a school. Just like Hamas and Hezbollah. A school with no students and the ai’d video showed an explosion 200 feet away from the so called trajectory of a “cruise missile”).
We knew where 4 vessels were (took out one frigate, embargoed another ship, and likely the other two are done for) after a joint naval exercise with India (who did not have to let us know the Iranian participants— we knew. US SSN got coordinates silent pursuit and.... booom!).
The entire crap byline about Russia aiding Iran targeting forgets that they can target as poorly as they can— now Iran has nearly nothing to fire from, or...to fire.
This is how dumb the Slimes and others are— manufacturing synthesized bullcrap.

That may be true, but the idea is out there. Drone warfare have proven to be something of a game-changer in the 21st century. With oceans on either side, it’s been a long time that Americans have worried about any sort of hostile military action domestically (short of ICBMs and terrorism). However, the possibility of drones being launched from, say, a freighter 800 miles off the coast of California is not a total impossibility. I would hope that the Coast Guard in conjunction with the intel agencies and the Pentagon, have a plan on this.
The email was not current. The “freighter” launcher was melted in Bandar-Abbas (a converted tanker multi-drone launcher— fully loaded. Incredible explosion which took out four other docked IRIS ships from the concussions and explosive outfall.
The details don’t really matter. The departure port need not be in Iran.
This is reminiscent of the WW2 "Battle of Los Angeles" on Feb 25, 1942, in which anti-aircraft fire filled the air. In the end in may have been over a weather balloon.
But that didn't stop the press. They went overboard with theories like that Japanese Americans signaling submarines off the coast to help with the "attack" on Los Angeles. In the end, FDR's Executive Order 9066 (to surveil Japanese in America) was expanded to start interring Japanese. In part because the media was yelling that somebody ought to do something!
But the media today who tells us to feel guilty over the internment camps always fail to remind us of the role that the hyperbolic media played in it.

It just seems obvious some religious fanatics can put a shipping container on a freighter with a planned route along the east coast and fire off some drones to fly at 100 ft altitude and hit things. This is rather credible.
