Of all cryptids, the idea of a leftover species, smarter than an ape - smart enough to avoid humans as much as possible - but dumber than a Somalian - no Learing Centers - seems the most conceivable. Not real, but at least remotely possible.
I've never seen one that I couldn't dismiss as a childhood dream state, but I've known folks who insist they have seen one here in New England. Credible men and otherwise...
