You say — you just update ...

Well I have two browsers running 24/7. I get cursed twice a day to update them. I stream audio and my browsers will run all week. There is no way I know of to stop this pop up update crap on ubuntu.

I use Brave and Firefox. Brave has like 4 windows and 50 tabs open 24/7.

Now that I let ubuntu update my firefox, the audio streams stop after a minute of playing.

I hate this — if it ain’t broke, why force a sudo fix !!!

Most of that can be blamed on the browsers. I’ve noticed myself that Brave updates a lot. Other than that, you could try Debian. It’s made to be stable and as such, doesn’t push the very latest of everything. Brave is going to be the same for Debian as Ubuntu — https://brave.com/linux/

I have Falkon browser installed and it doesn’t update often but also lacks the latest tech/features. There are others - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_web_browsers_for_Unix_and_Unix-like_operating_systems
