We lived on southern border of Washington state. No state income tax and we shopped in Oregon with no sales tax. It was 10 minutes ride across Columbia River to shop in oregon.
Yeah, When I lived there a lady that sold mattresses would sell them to people from Washington state. She had them delivered by truck to the consumer in Washington. That made all of the sales subject to sales taxes in WA. I think she owed over a $1M to the state of WA. She actually started a new store in OR, but followed the law.
