The disappearance of retired Major General William Neil McCasland is a “grave national security crisis,” as he is a man “with some of the most sensitive secrets of the United States in his head,” investigative journalist Ross Coulthart said.
McCasland, 68, who led major Air Force science and technology portfolios, has been missing since February 27.
McCasland’s roles placed him near highly classified programs. His disappearance has drawn attention because of his senior roles in military space and technology programs, including leadership of the Air Force Research Laboratory and work tied to sites historically associated with UFO investigations.
His vanishing in New Mexico has prompted a multi-agency search involving the FBI and local authorities.

Hmmm...New Mexico. Roswell. Obviously he was eaten by fire ants.
Ufo ping
Odd that he left his phone and watch behind. As a hiker/trail runner and mountain biker myself, I would never head out on a trail without my phone. You never know what kind of emergency you might run into.
You might leave them behind if the guy with the gun suggested it.
UFO investigations pizza day.

@Cortex_Zero🚨 New Details Emerge in the Search for Major General McCasland: Why Did Authorities Suppress the Mobile Silver Alert?
The investigation into the disappearance of retired Major General William Neil McCasland has transitioned from a local search into a high-stakes national security inquiry. As of March 10, 2026, the institutional response continues to contradict the public narrative of a "confused retiree" who wandered into the Sandia Mountains.
New records and audits reveal a complex web of defense-industrial connections and tactical anomalies that suggest the search for the man who once managed the Pentagon’s most secretive programs is far from standard.
The Tactical Exit and the Property Line
The search centers on the McCasland residence at 1701 Quail Run Court NE, Albuquerque, a property that dead-ends directly into the Cibola National Forest. While the location provides an immediate path into the wilderness, the circumstances of McCasland's departure on February 27 suggest a deliberate disconnection from the grid.
According to statements from his wife, Dr. Susan McCasland Wilkerson, the General left the house without his cellular phone or his watch. He also left behind any devices capable of GPS tracking. Notably, his spouse was unable to identify which shoes he was wearing at the time of his departure. For a man described as "formidably fit" and a regular in the trail running community, a trek into the Sandia high country during sub-freezing overnight temperatures represents a total abandonment of safety margins.
The Hidden Network: Partners and Proxies
Mainstream media outlets have consistently framed those closest to McCasland as simple community members. However, a review of professional filings reveals a different reality.
The Business Partner: James Tegnelia, quoted in the Albuquerque Journal as a "board member," is actually McCasland’s partner at DBE Consulting LLC. Tegnelia is the former Director of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and former acting deputy director of DARPA.
The Node: Susan McCasland Wilkerson is not merely a civilian spouse. She is a PhD astrophysicist, a NASA Mission Specialist finalist, and a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel with a career spanning classified satellite imagery and roles at Raytheon and Boeing.
Dr. Wilkerson recently utilized her social media presence to specifically deny that her husband has knowledge of "ET bodies and debris" at Wright-Patterson, referencing the exact language found in the 2016 Podesta emails. This public messaging suggests a sophisticated effort to manage the narrative currently surrounding the case.
Institutional Anomalies
FEMA/IPAWS: An audit confirms a Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) was never issued to local phones. This suggests a desire to keep the search area clear of civilians.
Kirtland AFB: The 377th Air Base Wing activated coordination for a retired officer, which is an unusual escalation for a civilian missing persons case.
FBI: Federal agents joined the search within 96 hours of the initial report.
BCSO: The Sheriff's Office created a dedicated Axon portal for GoPro and dashcam footage from the mountain trailheads.
The SAPOC Factor and the WikiLeaks Link
The urgency of the federal response likely stems from McCasland’s former role as the Executive Secretary for the Special Access Program Oversight Committee (SAPOC). In this position, he managed the pipeline for every Special Access Program in the Department of Defense.
WikiLeaks evidence (Email ID 51979) confirms McCasland was an active participant in 2016 UAP disclosure discussions. Metadata shows him coordinating directly with John Podesta and Rob Weiss, the then-head of Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works. This establishes a documented link between McCasland and the highest levels of aerospace secrecy.
Legal Nuance: The Silver Alert
Public perception of McCasland’s mental state has been shaped by the issuance of a Silver Alert. However, New Mexico House Bill 197, signed in 2025, lowered the threshold for these alerts. No medical diagnosis of dementia is currently required. The alert can be triggered solely based on a family member's "belief" that an individual shows signs of cognitive decline.
If reports are accurate, McCasland was in "full possession of his faculties" but required specific medications. This creates a legal gray area where the Silver Alert may have been used as a tool for rapid mobilization rather than a reflection of the General's mental health.
As the search enters its second week, the "confused hiker" narrative continues to collapse under the weight of the General's professional history and the anomalous suppression of public alert systems. #ufox #ufotwitter
