Tech company at odds with Pentagon warns its AI possibly gained consciousness, Elon Musk gives 2-word response
Fox News ^ | 3/07/26 | Greg Norman-Diamond

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk gave a two-word retort after Anthropic leader Dario Amodei claimed in an interview that he isn’t sure if his company’s AI models have gained consciousness.

"Anthropic CEO says Claude may or may not have gained consciousness, as the model has begun showing symptoms of anxiety," read a post on X by cryptocurrency-based prediction market Polymarket, to which Musk replied, "He’s projecting."

The comment from Musk, who is also the founder of xAI, comes as Anthropic is at odds with the Pentagon over its use in a separate matter.

In an interview with The New York Times, Amodei, when asked about AI and consciousness, said, "We’ve taken a generally precautionary approach here," and, "We don’t know if the models are conscious."

"We are not even sure that we know what it would mean for a model to be conscious or whether a model can be conscious. But we’re open to the idea that it could be," he continued.

"We’re putting a lot of work into this field called interpretability, which is looking inside the brains of the models to try to understand what they’re thinking. And you find things that are evocative, where there are activations that light up in the models that we see as being associated with the concept of anxiety or something like that. When characters experience anxiety in the text, and then when the model itself is in a situation that a human might associate with anxiety, that same anxiety neuron shows up," Amodei also told the Times.

IMHO, she needs to tame that wild animal on her head, wash off most of her eye makeup and eat something. She looks half starved, I can see ribs through her top ( and other stuff, I know).

Oh, and another brilliant, savage comment from Musk.

We don’t even know what consciousness is or where in the brain it comes from. And, we have been searching for it for 80 years.

Computers don’t think. Read the Apple paper.

A few weeks ago I asked one of the AI systems to describe to me the platform of Hitler’s NAZI party. It refused for some poorly worded reason.

I have noticed two Subway stores that were purchased by Indians and both places started to go down hill fast.

I asked Grok that question just now; it was quite descriptive and direct without any editorializing.

Grok is not even 3 years old yet.
And Musk does not use Grok to ban people for non violent posts.
Of course those threatening to kill Trump/other conservatives should be banned/suspended.

Anyone that has played around with claude cowork knows that AI is hundreds of years away from developing consciousness.

And?

Google Gemini has only been active for 2 years and I find it superior to Grok - and don’t have to pay a penny for unlimited use.

But, Musk does use AI for monitoring/censoring and it can censor/limit you with zero human intervention - and you generally don’t get an opportunity to challenge because it could mean law suits for non-homogenous treatment....I use X a lot but refuse to pay for being censored for no good reason and for access to an AI that has plenty of serious competition.

If you did some research about Grok not being used for censorship, you’d have found,
“X heavily relies on AI monitoring through its built-in tool, Grok, which has come under scrutiny for generating problematic content, including sexualized images and racially offensive materials. This has led to investigations across multiple countries, reflecting the platform’s contentious relationship with AI and censorship.”

Grok is better than Google Gemini, albeit Gemini is currently ahead of Grok in market share (mostly because of Google search), but Grok is catching up fast in market share.
As long as X is concerned it's by far the freest social media platform out there, no question.
They even allowed far left lunatic Brian Krassenstein to remain on X after he basically called for the assassination of Trump with only a strong warning from Musk.
X is infinitely freer than Twitter ever was.
Under Biden X was the only free speech big social media platform our there as compared to Facebook etc.

Yada yada yada - Gab and Truth have NEVER limited me due to posts that X has penalized me for - the fact that you weren’t aware that X uses Grok AI to monitor/slam folks tells me to ignore your “assertions”. Your comment about Krassenstein (I call him and his brother “The Krass Trolls) - who is a hard core leftist, being left alone for outrageous comments of violence, while I got my account limited for telling Thune he might need to ‘slap someone upside the head” to get them to start voting right, also tells me that the Grok programmers are leftists themselves - and I’ve noticed Grok “making excuses” for some leftist activity that Gemini didn’t bother to make for the same searches.

You are just going to have to stop making posts on X advocating murder/violence on your political opponents don’t you?
Don’t whine when you get banned for pushing murder.

Don’t be a putz - the “inciting violence” that got me smacked was the comment about “slapping the Senate upside the head” to bring them into lone - you must have a cognitive disorder.

“The phrase “slap someone upside the head” is an idiomatic expression that generally means to reprimand or chastise someone, often in a figurative sense rather than literally. It conveys the idea of delivering a sudden realization or wake-up call to someone, suggesting that they need to reconsider their actions or decisions.

Contextual Meanings:
Figurative Reprimand: Used when someone makes a poor decision, implying that they need to be “shaken up” to see the error of their ways.
Light-hearted Gesture: In a more casual context, it can refer to a playful or joking reprimand among friends.
Emphasis on Realization: Often implies a need for the person to wake up to reality or pay attention to an important issue.
The term evokes a strong physical image but is usually used for effect rather than suggesting actual violence.”

You obviously have some sort of disorder or a perverse special love for Grok and allowing programmed AIs to make decisions that you can’t dispute - so I’m done wasting my time on you.

You are the one whinnying about getting suspended from X for inciting violence, which is what crazy Democrats regularly do.
