Fulton County Jail Crsis Sparks Debate over Staffing, Facilities

Fulton County Commission Chair Robb Pitts and Sheriff Pat Labat disagree on how to resolve the unconstitutional conditions at the Rice Street jail, legally required by an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice. However, they are working together.

In February, the court-appointed consent decree monitor, Kathleen Kenney, reported that Rice Street’s inmate levels are not sustainable given existing staffing shortages, warning that a court-mandated population cap may be necessary to maintain safe conditions.

Since 2021, more than 30 people have died in custody at Fulton County’s main jail. Violence against inmates and detention officers, burst pipes, and fires have continually plagued the county’s main jail.

Neither article, author or Democrats quoted state the obvious: the cause of the problem. County Prosecutor Fani Willis and her staff have spent all their time and money prosecuting Trump&friends and 1 high profile rapper. Meanwhile the jail is crowded with those awaiting their "quick and speedy" trial.

Those who are not guilty are punished as if gilty. Those who are guilty should be sent to a state prison.

The main problem is that a good portion of their population don't think anything of committing crimes, hence the overcrowded jails. The "what's yours is mine" mentality is strong in that group.

The main problem with the Fulton County Jail is that it is in Atlanta, Georgia. LOL.

Every department and agency in Atlanta is staffed by DEI hires and outright criminals. Just Google “Fulton county jail employee arrested” if you don’t believe me.

All contracts are awarded on “who you know and who you are related to” terms. No work is actually done but the money flows freely.

Add in the crooked DA to the mix and you have a recipe for incompetence, fraud, and disaster.
